Ellen Page - Page Lands Eyre Role

JUNO star ELLEN PAGE has landed the lead role in a BBC adaptation of CHARLOTTE BRONTE'S classic novel JANE EYRE.

But the casting of the Oscar-nominated actress has reportedly angered a number of U.K. film industry bosses who believe a British actress should have been cast in Page's role.

A source tells British newspaper The Express, "No one is doubting Ellen Page's acting abilities but why a BBC movie of Jane Eyre couldn't have a British actress as the lead is pretty hard to stomach."

It's not the first time an American actress has attracted controversy by playing beloved characters from classic English literature - last year (07) Anne Hathaway caused controversy when she was cast in the role of author Jane Austen in movie Becoming Jane.

Jennifer Lopez Pops Up At School For Autistic Children

Jennifer Lopez made a surprise appearance on Tuesday at a State Island elementary school for autistic children performing for the first time since giving birth.

The singer, who welcomed twins Max and Emme just four months ago, was impressed by the letters she received from a group of eight 10-and-11-year-old students at Public School 37 and she decided to drop by on their graduation day and perform her hit song, "Let's Get Loud," silve.com reported.

According to their teacher, Kathy Amati, the kids fell in love with the 38-year-old's song and watched it every day for the last couple of months, learning the lyrics and dance moves it in.

"The kids don't even really understand how famous she is," said Ms. Amati. "They just really like her singing and dancing."

Encouraged by Amati, the children wrote Lopez, hoping for pictures or an autograph, but instead, the singer decided to come meet them on their graduation. A rep for Lopez called in to learn the details about the ceremony and the only people who knew ahead of time were the students, their teacher, paraprofessional Rose Mondella and P.S. 37 principal Bill Fiorelli.

It's always refreshing to see that motherhood is having such a positive effect on Lopez who is renowned for her "divaness."

Dreamworks - Panda Zohan Go To The Mat

You Don't Mess With the Zohan may be the title of Adam Sandler's latest
comedy, but the message in the title is likely to be ignored by a fighting
Kung Fu Panda, the DreamWorks Animation feature with Jack Black
providing the voice of the title character. Analysts are expecting the match-up
to be close and the box office for all movies this weekend to be solid -- what
with holdovers Sex and the City, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the
Crystal Skull, and other strong-legged features like The Chronicles of
Narnia: Prince Caspian and Iron Man, continuing to vie for
attention.
